Jamie Maguire Jr.

Mr. James J. Maguire, Jr.'s career in the insurance business began in 1987 as a broker, marketing directors & officers (D&O) liability, errors & omissions and fidelity products to for-profit, non-profit & financial organizations. He later joined CNA Insurance Companies, Great American Insurance Companies and AIG where he underwrote and managed various corporate and financial institution D&O liability, professional liability and fidelity bond products. In 1996, he joined Philadelphia Insurance Companies as a Vice President of Underwriting. He managed the Specialty Lines Underwriting Division, developing products and rates, quoting and servicing D&O and professional liability business for the middle market segment. In 1996, he introduced their trademarked EXECUTIVE SAFEGUARD policy, a four part policy including D&O, employment practices liability, fiduciary liability and kidnap/ransom coverage. In October of 1999 he was named to the Company’s Board of Directors and promoted to Executive Vice President & COO, responsible for overseeing and coordinating all functional areas of the Company. In October of 2002, he was promoted to President & CEO with responsibility for all company operations. In February of 2010, he was named Chairman & CEO.

Mr. Maguire holds a B.S. in Finance from Saint Joseph's University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. He is a past Trustee of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and he is a current Trustee of Saint Joseph's University and the Cadence Cycling Foundation. He has been a member of the Board of Governors of Saint Joseph's University Academy of Insurance and Risk Management since 2007. He is a competitive runner and triathlete and has completed 8 Ironman races, including the Hawaii Ironman in 2003 and 2006. He is married with four daughters and resides in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.

 

Mr. Christopher J. Maguire has been employed with Philadelphia Insurance Companies since 1987. He began his career as a Telemarketer and advanced through the years to Underwriting Trainee, Underwriting Manager, Assistant Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, and has been serving as Chief Operating Officer since 2008. In February of 2010, Mr. Maguire was named Co-President & Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Maguire has a BA from Villanova University. He is a current board member of Face to Face, an organization dedicated to providing a safe environment and practical tools to helping people confront personal challenges and to fulfill their unique potential. Mr. Maguire is an Ironman Triathlete.

Sean Sweeney

Mr. Sean S. Sweeney has been employed with Philadelphia Insurance Companies since 1979. He began his career in the insurance industry as an account executive and advanced through the years and has served as Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer since 1998. In February of 2010, Mr. Sweeney was named Co-President & Chief Marketing Officer.

In 1993, Mr. Sweeney took the Company public with founder James Maguire, Sr. Mr. Sweeney is a current Director on the Board at Philadelphia Insurance Companies and the Board of Directors for the Saint Joseph's University Haub School of Business. He holds an MBA from Saint Joseph's University and the following insurance industry designations: CPCU, RPLU and ARe. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Saint Joseph's University and a member of the Board of Governors of Saint Joseph's University Academy of Insurance and Risk Management since 2007. Mr. Sweeney is an Ironman triathlete.

 

Mr. Craig P. Keller's career in the insurance business began at Reliance Insurance Group where he was: a Senior Financial Planning Analyst, from 1985 to mid 1988, responsible for developing and implementing financial forecasts and completing the consolidated financial operating plans; a Financial Reporting Officer, from mid 1988 to mid 1991, responsible for managing the statutory financial reporting department; and Assistant Vice President-Investment Accounting department, from mid 1991 to December 1992, where he was responsible for the accounting operations of the consolidated entities $9.0 billion investment portfolio. Mr. Keller joined Philadelphia Insurance Companies in December 1992 as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Keller currently is Executive Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer & Chief Financial Officer with responsibilities for all financial and tax reporting activities, corporate treasury, planning and budget activities, day-to-day internal audit activities, liaison with the Company’s investment advisors, and Corporate secretarial duties. Prior to his employment with Reliance Insurance Group, Mr. Keller was an Audit Senior with Coopers & Lybrand in Philadelphia, PA and a Supervising Audit Senior in the Internal Audit department of Penn Walt Corporation.

Mr. Keller holds a B.S. in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University, and an M.B.A. (Finance concentration) from Drexel University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants

Robert D. O’Leary, Jr

Mr. Robert D. O'Leary’s insurance career began in 1977 as an Industrial Sales Representative for American Mutual Insurance Company. Mr. O'Leary later joined Universal Underwriters Insurance Company as a Commercial Sales Representative in 1979. In 1982, he joined Maguire Insurance Agency as a Regional Manager for the New England Region. He was named Regional Vice President of Philadelphia Insurance Companies in 1986 and managed the Great Lakes area in addition to New England and New York. As the Company’s business became more concentrated, Mr. O'Leary's territory became the Northeast Region, which encompassed New England and New York. In April of 2006, he was promoted to Senior Vice President for the Eastern Territory, which was made up of four regions; Northeast, Metro, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. In April of 2008, he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Marketing and continues to manage the Eastern Territory, which now includes the Florida Region.

Mr. O'Leary holds a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College in Connecticut, and he earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 1987. He is married with three sons and resides in North Easton, Massachusetts.

 

Mr. William J. Benecke began his insurance career with Ohio Casualty Insurance Group in Hamilton, OH and Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Benecke has been employed in the Claims Department for Philadelphia Insurance Companies since 1990. He was promoted from a Senior Claims Examiner to the position of Claims Manager in 1992, to Vice President of Claims in 1993, to Senior Vice President of Claims in 1999, and in 2008 he was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President & Chief Claims Officer. Mr. Benecke is responsible for the claims processing, reserving, and settlement practices of the Company's National Claims Operations. Under Mr. Benecke's leadership, he and his claim teams have received, processed, managed, and settled over ½ million claims valued in excess of $4.0 billion.

Mr. Benecke holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Rutgers University and he earned an Associate in Claims from the Insurance Institute of America. He continues his insurance studies as a candidate for the CPCU and RPLU designations. Mr. Benecke is married with three sons and resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
